-Angelina Ramirez

My name is Estrella Romero, and I am a senior in high school. When I look back at who I was a few years ago, I can see how much I have grown and become a better version of myself. My freshman and sophomore years were some of the hardest years of my life. I struggled with depression, and it affected many parts of my life, including my grades and my motivation. There were times when I struggled to see the meaning in life, but I kept pushing forward. With the support and help I received, I slowly began to see more reasons to keep going and more things to look forward to. Now, I want to focus on creating a bright future for myself. I want to make new memories, meet new people, try new things and step outside of my comfort zone instead of constantly worrying about what other people expect from me. I want to become someone who is confident, hardworking, independent, and proud of how far I have come. I want a career that I genuinely enjoy, a life where I can support myself, and a future that feels true to who I am. I am still figuring myself out, and I do not have everything planned yet, but I know I want to keep growing, keep trying, and create a life that makes me happy. If there is anything I have learned from my experiences, it is that struggling does not mean your story is over. Sometimes you just have to keep moving forward until you can finally see the brighter side of things. I want to look back one day and be proud that I never gave up on myself and that I chose to keep moving forward. My past may be part of who I am, but it does not define who I will become. My future is still unwritten, and I am beyond excited to write it.
