This is Ms.Lopez. One of our most interesting, and newer teachers here at Parlier high. M.s Lopez comes from a hard working family who originally were from our hometown Parlier. However Ms.Lopez mainly grew up in Pasadena Texas. Where she has spent most of her life, and where she learned, and did many things that shape her into the person that she has become to this day.
She mentions that when was young she had a hard time thinking when it came to college. However she recalls a coach that she had in her middle school. Coach, that according to her would change her life. As she mentions, that coach help her change her mind in many ways. Also she mentions that she received a lot of motivation from her, and even became very close among them. Ms.Lopez feels that she became close to her coach because she feels that that coach woke up her thought of becoming a sports coach/medicine teacher, though that she had for a while but that her coach came to fully turn it on. Additionally she says that that coach is one of the main reasons she went to college.
As mentioned Ms.Lopez wanted to become a coach, and a medicine teacher. Which she accomplished, and now works in those fields. She mentions that she always wanted to be what she is today, and that she was born to be what she is. Additionally she mentions that she wanted to do something she loved for the rest of her life, something that as she mentioned, “would make it easier”.
One of the things that Ms.Lopez finds the best from her job, is that she has been able to help many people through her teacher/coaching life. She mentions that in her coaching life she has achieved many things that are sports related. Although in her coaching,and teaching life, one of the best things that she has done is being able to help many of her past students in pressuring their dreams, and helping them reach their dreams. She also mentions that one of the best and most impressive things of her job over anything, is that she gets to see how many of her former students have now become important people in life, and that she loves it when they call her and thank her for her help.
Even though Ms.Lopez loves her job, she says that it has not been an easy thing. She mentions that being a coach, and a teacher comes with a big load of responsibilities and work. Although between coaching and teaching, she mentions that she finds coaching way more demanding than teaching. She describes coaching as a high demanding work with several tasks, even comparing it to having two full time jobs, however at the end rewarding as she gets to see how people improve with her help.
Although today Ms.Lopez is with us here at Parlier, she also used to teach and coach in a whole different state, which was Texas. She mentions that the reason she moved to Parlier was because she has a lot of family here, and because she was always told she could do a good job here. Additionally she mentions that she also wanted to one day be here at parlier as an adult, not only as a holiday visit. So far she has liked both her in general life, and school life here at Parlier. She says that she loves how with Parlier being a small town, she is able to connect more with students.
Although so far she has liked her stay, she still misses things from her past town. She says that the most things she misses in general are, the food, and the sports teams that she used to watch. However the most things that she misses are the people that she was able to help, her family, and the relationships she had built for more than 20 years. However she is excited for the things that await her here at Parlier.
Overall Ms.Lopez loves more than anything the person she has become, the things she has been able to do, and the people she has been able to help. She mentions that if she could go back in time, she would choose to be a coach over, and over, until she can. She loves what coaching and teaching have thought her, the stories she has lived, the memories she built, and even the bad things which she uses as experience, overall she loves every detail of her life, and is grateful for being able to become who she is, and for being able to do the good things that she has done.
