CWA Superheros

This Wednesday, the CWA Superheroes took a break from their duties to reward the kids with perfect attendance. This was the elementary school’s 100 days of perfect attendance mini award ceremony, in which the kids were praised by their favorite superheroes.

The Child Welfare & Attendance (CWA) program prepared a special certificate for the kids and gave them a superhero t-shirt along with a superhero attendance lapel pin, as a reward for their hard work and perfect attendance. This time, the superheroes visited only two of the four elementary schools here in Parlier:  Martinez and Benavidez. Don’t worry, everything has been calculated, and no kid with 100 days of perfect attendance will be left out.  Next week, CWA Superheroes will go and reward the other two elementary schools: Chavez and Brletic.

Through these awards, the CWA Superheros program seeks not only to reward the kids but also to invite them to keep giving their best of themselves and influence other kids to do the same. Portraying a superhero doesn’t mean to look good just  in pictures, but also to have a positive impact on the kids you come across. The program takes advantage of the fact that children are especially influenced by their environment and our superheroes are teaching and setting great examples. For example, after the award ceremony in Benavidez, the superheroes get the chance to stay in the children’s recess. All of the kids were really happy to see them. There was a girl who hugged probably every single one of t the superheroes. Observing how happy a kid can be is one of the most rewarding parts of CWA Superheroes’ mission.
