Mr Deitz is a beloved Anatomy, Physiology, and Biology teacher here in Parlier High school who’s been teaching for 12 years, the real question is who is Mr. Deitz? Mr. Deitz is not only a teacher but a father, a husband, ex marine, and also a referee for football. He was born and raised in Squawvalley California and now lives in Fresno California. Deitz first was working in building houses and at Heald College when he decided he wanted to start working for a county school. Parlier High school was the first and only school he applied to work in, I guess you can say it was meant to be! His favorite memory in working in Parlier High school was when he refereed for Parlier in 2023. It was our JV football VS. Sierra and our JV had won that game. He enjoyed seeing his school win a game!
Mr. Deitz knew he wanted to be a teacher since high school, well since he met his high school biology teacher Mr. Beters. Mr. Beters was Deitz’s favorite teacher, he really inspired him to be a great teacher just like him. He looked up to him and loved the way he taught. Talking about high school, thinking about our teachers being in high school seems silly, but they were highschoolers just like us once. If Mr. Deitz could talk to his high school self, he would advise himself to have more fun. Mr deitz believes we should focus on school but also live in the moment. He believes high school is to live it and not stress it, you don’t want to look back at your memories and wish you did more.
Deitz outside of work fixes clocks, he referees football games, and loves to be around his family.
He loves his career and enjoys teaching so much, but he plans to retire in 6-7 years. When he retires he wants to get a farm and be a farmer, he actually just bought a farm which was a big goal for him. If Mr. Deitz can describe himself in one word; it would be chill. He’s an easy going and understanding person, we all love Mr. Deitz for that! A quote he lives by everyday is “Crapediem” which means see the day. He believes you should live in the moment, enjoy everyday life.
Mr. Deitz is a great and understanding teacher, he is very loved by all students here in Parlier High school. I just wanted to end this by saying thank you to Mr. Deitz for taking the time to answer my questions and be my teacher spotlight. He’s honestly a great teacher and I am very grateful he was once my biology teacher.
