ETS Seniors Retreat, 2026
On May 1, 2026, the 4th annual ETS retreat of Parlier’s Seniors was held.
The ETS retreat is an event designed to celebrate the long journey that Seniors are about to end. It also serves as a guide for the upcoming chapter they are about to start, and as an opportunity to create new experiences and connect with other ETS seniors.
The first thing we did was go to Reedley College, where the presentations were later held. We share this special day with Dinuva ETS seniors, and we receive tips and advice for this new chapter we are about to face. For me, the advice that seemed most important was to get involved and put ourselves out there.
Our three guest speakers were either related to ETS programs or alumni of the ETS programs. The first one was Mr. Sanchex, who shared a lot of his experiences throughout high school until now. Something that I recall about his speech was “Learn who you are, learn your weaknesses, and embrace being uncomfortable”. I think many of us had to learn all those things, and I know I will work on it. Our second speaker was Ms. Ortega, who advice us to “Build confidence, (beacuse) you belong everwhere you want to go.” Ms. Alardo which remind us to “Be resilient, be prepared to make mistakes, that is how people learn, and don’t follow, lead.” We had great guesses that shared with us their experience as students, and even with their busy schedule they made time for us, thank you for letting time for us.
Lastly, we end the day at River Park with unforgettable new experiences to add to our last year. We receive coupons to the movie theater to watch the movie of our preference. My friend and I didn’t plan to see a movie today, but as they said, the best moments are the unplanned ones. We ended up with two more friends, watching Michael the film in the VIP section. It was a really fun experience, we learned a lot, and had fun after it.
