Why The Last Of Us Part 1 and 2 Was A Big Hit

 I’ve played many video games my whole life with my older brother who of course I had to share with. I always enjoyed playing story mode games because there’s so much more than what multiplayer games give. Yes, it’s fun playing with friends but sometimes playing alone is just way better. A lot of gamers want a strong story being told in their games, so they can get the feel of it. There are many video games out there that have strong story elements in their games. For instance, The Last Of Us Part 1 and 2 has brought every gamer who enjoys story mode games together. Both of these games at the beginning have left gamers filled with great memories with the bond between the two main characters which would soon take a huge turn in the second game.

Like it has been mentioned before, I’ve played video games my entire life but none of them have left a huge impact on my life until I played The Last Of Us Part 1 and 2. Something about both of these games, couldn’t ever leave my head because of how strong the plot of the story was. The first game focused on two main characters who were complete strangers, but throughout the game their relationship started to change every time they were together. This type of relationship is a father daughter relationship, as people can tell, it already sounds interesting. There aren’t many father daughter relationships when it comes to video games because some popular story mode games focus on sports, violence, and survival. The Last Of Us Part 1 and 2 is a survival game but it includes a father daughter relationship which we don’t see much in video games. This video game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where both characters are trying to reach their destination to help make a “cure”. Not only is the plot of the game phenomenal but the relationship between both characters made the game even better. Their father daughter relationship is what helped both of them reach their character development. 

After The Last Of Us Part 1 was a huge success, the only thing people who played the game were waiting for was the most anticipated game, The Last Of Us Part 2. After it was announced that there was a second game being in the works, everyone could only wait. There were trailers and sneak peaks being released here and there but when it came close to the released date, it was always pushed back which made people a bit upset. Part 2 focuses on the aftermath of the events that happened in Part 1. Both main characters drastically changed, especially their relationship which all of the gamers adored in the first game. When it comes to survival games, the main characters will do anything to protect themselves and the people they are closest to. Part 2 is definitely not a fun game but that’s what makes it a phenomenal game. The entire story is way different than the first game because Part 2 is set after a couple years from Part 1. Of course, their father daughter relationship wasn’t always going to be the same as it was before. Nothing will be said on how much their relationship has changed but there was a lot of stuff that they were dealing with.

There are other story mode games that are better than The Last Of Us Part 1 and 2 but these two games are far better because of how well the developers made this game and how strong the story was. There were a lot of sacrifices they had to make in order for the story to keep on going and they made a huge risk as well. They knew what type of response the developers were going to receive but still ended up taking the huge risk in Part 2. It left a lot of The Last Of Us fans speechless of the choices the developers made for the game. In order to understand why they decided to make the choices they made for the game, people had to play it more than once even though the game was 20 to 30 hours long. A lot of people don’t understand that these gamers had to wait 7 years for Part 2 to release. Part 2 left a lot of people upset because of the way the game also ended. Despite the mixed emotions people felt about Part 2, it received a lot of rewards, for instance, game of the year. 

In conclusion, The Last Of Us Part 1 and 2 were both big hits for the gaming community. Story mode games are far more interesting than multiplayer games because they don’t tell strong stories like story mode games. These types of games will tell a story that will never leave people, just as a favorite movie or a book. Part 1 and Part 2 is a great example of a game never leaving people alone because of how much it had impacted people.
