This was a very exciting experience for everyone,a tremendous amount of people came to support the varsity football team. To the boys who put in all their effort and time into playing made the night 100 times better by bringing all their energy to the field.
With the football season finally starting, the second game of the season the Parlier Panthers went up against Granite Hills on Thursday the 24th. Coming back from a loss to Farmersville, our very own Parlier High went above and beyond what was asked of them and stole the show.
They came in with the confidence they needed and during the 1st quarter our very own Pablo Lopez scored the first touchdown within the first 10 minutes of the game. Parlier High kept that confidence even after Granite Hills scored a touchdown during the 2nd quarter. The panthers did not let that slide and before half time the score was 22-6 with the Panthers in the lead. The PHS band also performed their fight song multiple times and this was the first time they wore their uniforms to a home game!
During halftime the cheerleaders put on an amazing performance with their new routine that won the hearts of the audience. The stadium was completely full of students and parents. The feeling was euphoric, everyone there to support and being very positive was very exciting. You could feel that everyone had a good feeling about the game and everyone knew they were going to win. Hearing all the yelling and all the encouraging words from the families was most appealing. Much of the players success boils down to the commitment from the coaches, community members, and even some of our boys in blue (Parlier PD) .
