Brianna is an 18-year-old senior in high school who has come a long way since moving from Washington to Parlier. Now that graduation is just around the corner, she admits she feels both excited and sad. Excited, because she’s ready to start a new chapter in her life and continue her education, possibly at a UC. Sad, because it means leaving behind many of the people she grew up with.
High school has been an important time of growth for Brianna. She says she’s proud of becoming more social and outgoing, which helped her make more connections and friendships. One of her biggest personal goals now is to build healthy and stable relationships that she can carry with her into the future.
Looking ahead, Brianna has big dreams of becoming a politician. She doesn’t picture herself having a family, but she does see herself fighting for what she believes in and making a difference in the world. If she could give advice to her younger self, she’d say: “You can do whatever you want since you only live once. It’s better to be outgoing and fight for what you believe in than be suppressed and follow others.”
When asked if she has any regrets from high school, Brianna says her only one is not taking advanced classes during her freshman year. That’s why the advice she would give to incoming freshmen is simple: “You’re smarter than you think. Challenge yourself academically.”
As she gets ready to finish her senior year, Brianna wants to focus on positivity by cutting off negative influences and surrounding herself with good people. From her move to Parlier to the person she’s become today, Brianna’s story shows her growth, resilience, and determination. She’s ready to close this chapter of high school and step boldly into her future.
