I would like to thank Natalie for giving me the privilege of letting me interview her. Natalie is a teacher here at Parlier High School; she is part of the Parlier High School Marching Band and Color Guard. Natalie was a student here at Parlier High; she is in the class of 2024. This year is Natalie’s first year working at the high school; she was currently working at the Parlier Junior High School as a drum tech. Natalie was part of the parlor marching band for her 4 years in high school; she got the privilege to be drum captain and a great leader. She wants to be a lawyer after she gets her major in music. She is one of the sweetest people, and she has a very kind heart.
She is someone who loves to give advice and help others when they need it. Her favorite advice that she likes to give people is “Don’t listen to others’ opinions.” This advice is important for her because she says that if she had listened to other people’s opinions, she wouldn’t be where she is today, teaching.
What motivates Natalie to keep students engaged is the passion that she has for music. Music is everything to her, and it’s something that she has done for a long time. Because of music, she has had so many opportunities in life. She was able to go to New York. And become a drum tech at Parlie High School.
Advice that Natalie would give to someone who wants to succeed in this course would be “practice, practice, practice.” With practice you will achieve what you want and will get better at playing your instrument. It will also help you to succeed in life. Practicing will also get you to learn your music and be amazing at it.
Natalie uses many school supplies because they are important for her, and she needs them a lot. Like her notebook, her computer, and her backpack, but the number one thing that Nalaie can’t live without is her iPad. Her iPad is important because that’s where she keeps all the important things from school.
Natalie is usually someone who is always happy and has a smile on her face. But when she has the best smile is when her students do what makes her the happiest. What makes Natalie smile the most is when her students call her by her name and hug her. She loves hugs and loves when they hug her and call her name in an exciting and happy way.
A field trip that Natalie would like to take her students on would be to the DCI Championship. She would like to take them to a DCI because it shows many amazing bands and to show them that they are capable of anything if they work hard. She also wants to show them how much fun and amazing time they have while performing.
Natalie is a person who is very young. With Natalie looking young and being around many kids, some students go up to Natalie and ask her if she is in middle school. Many people ask her if she’s in middle school because she is a bit short and is very young.
Even though Natalie is a teacher and works with students, she is still human, and she has learned many things from students, and something she has learned is she needs to describe things better. As a drum teacher, some things make sense to her, but then she sees by other students that
she should describe things better so that they can be able to understand what they need to play and how to play the parts right.
Natalie loves to ask questions of her drumline, especially when she notices that kids don’t practice and they can’t play a part right in the music or play what they were told. Her favorite thing to ask her students is “Have you practiced?” She loves asking them the question because she knows the answer, but some kids like to say yes when it’s obvious to her that they have not practiced.
One way Natalie wants people to remember her is by saying her favorite thing: always do the right thing.
