Fernanda Arredondo is a Senior here at Parlier High School. She is a cheerleader and belongs to the dance team. In her early years, she grew up in Reedley, California. Later, at the age of four, she moved to Parlier, where she has lived since then. She did basketball, soccer, and dance. Although between basketball and soccer, she prefers basketball more.
“When I was little, I watched the cheerleaders. I wanted to become one.”
She started to cheer when she was four years old. She started at the Parlier Team that plays on Saturdays. When she watched the cheerleaders, she wanted to become one too. One of her favorite things about being a cheerleader is making new friends on the team and at practices. Her favorite moment has been walking with the little kids to the police station. She also commented that the cheerleaders would start going to competitions soon, so good luck to all of them. She had not been in any accident, but a friend of hers fell on one of the practices last week when they lifted her; she still feels pain.
“I like to talk to people and know how they feel and understand them.”
She wants to become a Psychologist and wants to go to Fresno to keep studying. She wants to pursue psychology because she likes to get to know people and understand how they feel to help them. She feels excited about going to college and getting to know new people. The thing she is more excited about this year is the senior night, the last home game of the season. One piece of advice she would have given to her freshman self would be that she shouldn’t get distracted by her friends and focus on her grades.
