PHS Home Coming Rally

As students entered the gymnasium, all of their faces lit with excitement as they began walking in and filling in the bleachers ready to be presented with this year’s Homecoming rally. Slowly students began filling in their designated sections among the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Once everyone had found their place the rally began. We started off by proudly welcoming in all of our sport people including, the cheerleaders and football players. All these students walked in showing great energy which motivated the crowds to begin cheering with excitement.

Once everyone had found a seat they began with the fun activities! The chant is what gets every class railed up. In the chant the person with the microphone called out each class to see who had the loudest and powerful chant! It went from freshman to seniors but at the end both seniors and sophomores were in a competition for the loudest chant. Almost at a draw it was said seniors had the loudest chant. After the chant, the school was presented with this year’s homecoming contestants, which were, Ashley and Manuel, Mia and Kingston, Destiny and Ernie, Mia and Jose, Kylie and Mia, and finally Miah and RJ. Now the real activities and games have begun.

First all the senior cheerleaders were joined with their choice of teacher to partner up with them for a mini break dance! The crowd cheered for every single one of them. After the dance off they began with another fun game involving shopping carts! In this game one student from each grade came down and had one partner from the other grade drive them across the gym and back! The next game was Tug of War! In this game 10 students from each grade were called. First it was freshman vs sophomores, sophomores took the win! Next, it was juniors and seniors, after a rough match seniors took the win. Lastly, the last match of Tug of War was teachers against the seniors. It was a close call but seniors took the win. The last and final game was musical chairs. They gathered one student from each grade once again to represent their class in the game of musical chairs. Everyone was laughing at the fact that these students had the chairs right in front of them but did not realize it! The crowd would start getting excited when they would see someone get near the chair but would be devastated when they would walk right past it! After a while the final winners to get a chair were juniors. The crowds were dismissed and of course thanks to their win the juniors were given permission to be the first ones to walk out.
