Mrs. Gibson PHS Spotlight

Mrs Gibson is a well- liked teacher. She teaches both English and French. Gibson says, “This is year five for me at PHS.” This is quite a long time. The reason she chose to teach French was because she didn’t know what else to do. The outcome of that went well seeing as she is still teaching and is happy.

When asked about her childhood, Gibson states, “I grew up in a few different places. Most of my childhood was spent in Fresno.” She also wanted to be in the translation and interpretation field, but didn’t end up doing so. Her reasoning was, “The more I got into that, I realized it would be a very lonely life.” A reason she likes teaching is because of the students, “I enjoy a moment where a student who has been working so hard and gets so frustrated suddenly understands the work,” Gibson says.

Gibson’s answer to what she would tell her high school self was, “Probably try something different. It is very easy to stay in your comfort zone and that gets boring.” Which is true, it’s good for people to be more outgoing every once and awhile. Grey is also her favorite color since it goes with everything. Her favorite music genre is, “Kind of a combination of 70’s funk, celtic folk music, and maybe some mongolian throat singing.”

Her last two questions consist of if she has any kids. To which she responded with, “I have one toddler, a daughter named Myra!”

Finally, her last question was: What words would you use to describe yourself? Gibson replied with, “Doing my best!”

We thank Mrs. Gibson for her time at PHS and her lively responses!
