PHS Spotlight: Mr. Tanaleon

Before we begin, I would like to personally thank Mr. Tanaleon for taking time out of his day to allow me to interview and post his photo onto the Parlier Panther Post’s page.
Mr. T is the band director at Parlier High School. He has been teaching in band for at least 10 years and has taught in Parlier for about 5 years. He started teaching at PHS because a previous principal had offered for him to come over and observe and consult what the band should look like. Another key detail to remember is that at first, not many people believed in his program but that never stopped him from working hard to get the band together.
His biggest fear is failure during a performance or even just rehearsal which is why he has worked long and hard to make sure band students can reach their highest potential. When asked if he saw himself teaching band in 5+ years, he said as follows, “Yeah, you’re gonna find me dead in the band room. I will teach for the rest of my life.”
Mr. T is proud of how far he came and is one of the most dedicated teachers I have ever met. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to talk to him. Once again, thank you Mr. Tanaleon for your time.
