Ashley Flores

I got to interview Ashley Flores, she is a senior this year at Parlier High School. I learn more about her as a person and her goals for the future. I asked her what advice she would give her freshman self, Ashley said, “Focus on God and school, stop following the crowds, and don’t be afraid to be yourself.”
Something that Ashley enjoys doing outside of school is going to the gym to work out. She is also a wrestler. Wrestling is a sport that she enjoys doing because of the challenge it gives her both mentally and physically. Not only that, but she finds it entertaining to do now that are so many new girls in the team that she can practice with! Even when she’s tired and wants to stop, she keeps going and pushes herself. She says that even if she isn’t the #1 she’s still better than her old self, and that’s what really matters to her.
In her free time she likes spending time with her family by going on walks with her mom and younger brother. Ashley has also been getting into reading more and enjoys reading. She also likes watching shows and movies, and when she gets a chance to clean she enjoys it. Someone that Ashley looks up to would be her mom. She says that her mom is the person from whom her motivation comes.
Ashley shared that she was born in North Carolina and has moved around a lot throughout her life when she was younger. She moved from North Carolina to Fresno and finally stayed in Parlier. She has three in total with her included. Her being the middle child with an older brother, an older sister, and a younger brother. Ashley’s motivation stems from her parents. A way that both her friends and teachers would describe Ashley is that at first she is a quiet, polite, shy person. When she starts to open up more, she becomes this talkative, friendly, outgoing, and very chill person. One of her strengths is that she’s always pushing herself to get things done beforehand. While her weakness is that she cares too much about things sometimes.
Ashley plans a big successful future as a wildland firefighter. She looks forward to earning an associate’s degree after becoming a wildland firefighter. She explained that this degree can help her advance in the field and to gain experience. If she gets her associate’s degree, she will be in a higher rank and earn better pay. Her long-term goals are to be financially stable, to be married, and to have kids. She hopes to buy a house and provide financial stability for her family. Ashley is always passionate about improving herself mentally and learning from her mistakes to grow and stay motivated. Ashley is ready to tackle whatever comes next ! :)
