Before the girls’ basketball game tipped off, the four seniors Kylie Lay, Jayden Nunez, Audrina Garcia, and Trinity Alonso were recognized during senior night. Following the recognition, the national anthem was played and the game officially began.
Kylie Lay won the opening tip, giving the Panthers first possession. Just one minute into the first quarter, Jazleen Thompson scored the Panthers’ first points against Fowler. The Red Cats responded shortly after, with Fowler’s No. 5 scoring their first basket of the game. The teams traded points early, but by the end of the first quarter the Panthers held an 11–4 lead.
In the second quarter, the Panthers stayed aggressive on offense, scoring back-to-back baskets. Jayden Nunez capped off the first half by hitting a three-pointer, sending the Panthers into halftime with a 21–15 lead.
After halftime, the Panthers came out slow in the third quarter, allowing the Fowler Red Cats to close the gap. Coach Stevens called a timeout, urging his team to refocus and finish strong. The message was clear, as the Panthers regained control of the game. Jayden Nunez and Kassandra scored multiple layups, while Jazleen Thompson knocked down key three-pointers to extend the lead.
By the fourth quarter, the Panthers were firmly in control and began running down the clock. When time expired, the Panthers secured a 38–30 victory over the Fowler Red Cats.
