Nancy ASB President
Nancy Miranda is currently 17 years old and she’s the ASB president at Parlier High school. What inspired Nancy to run for president was her old Leadership teacher Mr. Camargo and being ASB president is important to her because she wants to be a good role model for the students.
Her goals are to collaborate with her cabinet, do fun things for the class, and make our senior year memorable not just for us but for the other classes too, because for a lot of us our high school year got cut short. Like every other student would say, she isn’t entirely sure what her plans are but she knows she wants to go to a four year college and maybe go into STEM.
In the past, her GPA has always been above a 4.0 because she mainly took AP, and Honor classes, but this year she decided to go easy, so the highest GPA she can get is a 4.0. Her dream job was to be an Architect, then a lawyer, then back to architect, then a pilot, but as of right now, she’s not sure.
As some of you may know, Nancy plays volleyball, she enjoys being one of the Captains on the team, being able to express themselves and in the way they are working, and collaborating with the other teammates to make sure they are all on their game. She says that it’s fun being around the other girls, that they all get along, not just as a team but as a friendship group too.
She shares that you create bonds that you would never created if it wasn’t for the sport you play together. Her favorite class is ILEAD because it’s a constant resource team, since freshman year. They all have a strong bond and get along well, and most of the students have known each other since elementary school. She likes the teacher, the environment, and the classroom itself.
Fun fact: Nancy’s favorite color is gray. She wasn’t planning to be valedictorian but it would be cool to get it. Her regrets were not being more involved throughout all four years, not applying to more clubs, and not going to as many football games since she was more of a stay at home person.
Thank you to our ASB President for this insightful interview.
